HVL

A modern timepiece for nurses

Watches used by nurses in clinical settings have largely stayed the same since the beginning. They show the time, hang on the gown and that's about it. In a clinical setting, nurses use time to monitor vitals, judge how soon medications work etc. Some opt to use a more modern wristwatch with advanced functions to keep track of time while working. Wristwatches represent a significant risk to hygiene and could potentially be hazardous to patients. I aim to develop a more modern timepiece to hang on a gown with functions relevant to nurses and clinicians.

Adfectus

Half of the children who are admitted to the hospital do not know why they are there. This is part of the reason why Adfectus was founded. The goal is to create a communication tool that can be used in the treatment of children. The children can make avatars that will illustrates their situation, and throughout their hospital stay the goal is to produce their own book that tells their hospital and treatment story. In the long run the entrepreneurs believe that the tool can also be used in child welfare, in substance abuse care, in asylum reception centers, at health stations and elsewhere.

Medretur

Around 600 tonnes of unused and expired medications are disposed of annually in Norway. Half of these are thrown away in Norwegian households and generate significant environmental pollution. Release of drugs in marine ecosystems can change the behavior of fish species and release of antibiotics in the wild can make bacterial strains resistant in the long run. Medretur wants to develop a product that will reduce these problems. The team consists of HVL students Ole Alexander Bakkevik and Lars Birger Bergmål, and UiB student Elisabeth Tran.

Prefero

We believe that all companies should have access to solutions that improve employees' working lives and work-life balance. In a strictly regulated country like Norway, we find that managers struggle to create good work schedules that meet the company's staffing needs, respect the laws and regulations, and make employees satisfied—although there are major rewards for the company if they manage to do so. Consequently, Prefero was made to create work schedules that workers actually want.

Studentrekruttering

We know there is an enormous demand for relevant experience. Meanwhile, we also know there are numerous companies interested in recruiting skilled students- who for different reasons do not have a system in place for doing so. Our goal is simply to introduce motivated students to companies that typically don’t have tradition for advertising themselves to students at universities. If you are a skilled student motivated to prove yourself in an exciting company, we will work tirelessly to give you that opportunity. We aim to make the whole process swift and transparent- for both parties.

revju.no

The website is a TripAdvisor for the rental market where you can write reviews on all apartments throughout Norway. In the reviews, you give points on parameters, write text, choose period of living, and attach photos. The parameters range from landlord to room solution. The idea is that future tenants will find out what it is really like to live in an apartment before moving in by reading the reviews from previous tenants. We hope that tenants can avoid unwanted experiences in the rental market.
